Getting started is simple. Reach out through our Schedule an appointment page—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

To ensure we spend our first session focusing on you, please complete the following in your patient portal:

• Intake Forms: Provide a deep dive into your history, provide your goals and sign the assigned consent forms.

• Previous Records: If you have prior evaluations or recent lab work, please upload them, or sign release of information so that we can obtain them for you.

• The Tech Check: Since we primarily meet via telepsychiatry, ensure you have a private space and a stable internet connection. Complete portal enrollment for ongoing communication needs.

Our first meeting is about more than a diagnosis; it’s about understanding your unique story.

• For Children : I focus on creating a low-pressure, environment where children feel safe to be themselves. These visits may be split into 2 sessions so that there is time to meet with child, then with parents alone to discuss your concerns privately.

• The Discovery Phase: We will discuss your concerns, and listen to the history of how these concerns developed.

• Initial Plan: We’ll end our first session with a clear "next steps" roadmap.

Depending on your needs, we may initiate:

• ADHD Evaluation: Advanced computerized testing for objective data. There is an additional $75 charge for this testing if not billing insurance.

• Lab work: Checking for underlying physical causes (vitamin levels, thyroid, etc.).

• Psychogenetic Testing: A simple cheek swab to help identify which medications best align with your Metabolic profile.

• Medical + Therapeutic: I provide psychiatric expertise and supportive therapeutic guidance. If you need a dedicated therapist, I will help you find a specialist and act as a bridge to ensure your care is seamless.

• Diagnostic: I will help refer you to other evaluators if we need further help to establish clarity on diagnosis. Psychoeducational/Neuropsychiatric evaluations are not performed here but I will help to arrange for these when indicated.

We believe in clear and transparent pricing so you can focus entirely on your wellness. Our fees are structured on the duration of the appointment and whether you are joining us for an initial consultation or an established follow-up visit.

We will be in network with BCBS as of 6/14/2026. Other carriers pending. We maintain a clear cash-pay fee schedule for those choosing to pay out-of-pocket or utilize out-of-network benefits which can be found on our cost of care page.

Hyacinth Mental Health is offering telepsychiatry services within the state of North Carolina, centered in Raleigh. We plan to increase our in person availability Summer of 2026 in the LaFayette Village Office Suites.

I am only licensed to treat patients within the state of North Carolina. This means that even though visits are virtual you have to be within the state of North Carolina to attend meetings with me. I will also not send prescriptions to other states.

This Clinic has a Supervising Psychiatrist Dr Allen O’Barr, who is available to assist your provider at any time, but there are no appointments available with a Psychiatrist.
