Our Story & Mission
Hyacinth Mental Health was built with one concept in mind; a clinic centered on good service, where clients feel welcome and heard.
“I want every person who walks through our door to be treated as family.”
Meet Lauren
My name is Lauren Wright, and I am a Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA-C). I have 10 + years in providing psychiatric care. I obtained my undergraduate degree from NC State with a B.S. in Biology and minor in Genetics. I obtained my masters in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University. During my career as a PA, I have merged my background in general medicine with behavioral health to provide a holistic, science-backed approach to care. I further went on to be trained as a Neuropsychiatry specialist,
Having worked across the full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, I now focus on the complex relationship between brain function and behavior. I am committed to redefining the patient experience through superior customer service, and clear provider-patient communication.
I make my home in Raleigh, NC where I live with my husband, 2 children and 2 dogs. I enjoy gardening, flowers of course, needlepoint and walks.
“My mission is to help my clients move past compromises and 'common' solutions to find a mental health path that is as unique and resilient as a Hyacinth."
Meet Laura
I am often the first person you will speak with at our practice, bringing over 10 years of healthcare experience — including 8 years dedicated to mental health — to every interaction. I am happy to help with scheduling, billing questions, and any general questions you may have about the practice.
I fell in love with mental health from the start and find it endlessly fascinating. Helping others is at the heart of who I am, and I understand that navigating mental healthcare can feel overwhelming. I am passionate about guiding and advocating for patients so they can get the care they deserve.
When I'm not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, friends, family — and rewatching New Girl from the beginning (again).
